What shoe is best for me?
What shoe is best for me? Well the American College of Sports Medicine put out an article that gives some answers to what to look for. Think of it as kind of a guideline for what to look for in a shoe. ACSM Shoe Guide.. click here. Thanks to VivoBarefoot for posting this. I encourage everyone to find places that have 90 return policies. A lot of running stores and online vendors have this, It is a great way to try a shoe and make sure it works for you. Sizing is not always so standardized especially from a traditional shoe to a minimalist shoe. I wear anywhere from a 9 to a 10.5. Everyone's feet are different and needs are different. But Shoes can't fix problems. That is not what they are intended for. Most people that have foot problems are either caused by the shoes they wear or actually are muscular or postural problems that probably aren't even in the foot such as tight posterior chain muscles or even over developed and unbalanced muscles. The fix is not orthodox or shoes with huge arch support. The answer is proper exercise, stretching and focusing on balancing your body(not having over developed muscles in one area or plane of the body). By balancing your body you will feel better, have less injury or pain, have better posture, and have much better athletic performance.
